How many different sites do technical tutorials? How many different places can you learn a different way to do what you already know how to do? I am not knocking these sources of information at all, because we will at times incorporate portions of that into the educational process that we offer. At 4PeoplesChoice Solutions, we want toconcentrate on what the school’s we attended left out. We want to go beyond just the technical skills that we need to be a great beauty industry professional, but also the business skills that we need to be a beauty industry powerhouse. How many of us went to school just to be able to make a living? How many of us just wanted a job (Just Over Broke)? The problem is that the trade school that we attended is just that. Even if we learned our trade in a traditional college, the education still concentrated on teaching us to just be an employee. They briefly hit on opportunities that are out there, but basically their focus was on how we can trade time for money. Look at the amount of information provided on the business, as opposed to every other chapter in the textbooks. There is nothing wrong with that concept, as long as you never get sick, hurt, need extended time off, or want to be financially free. If you can avoid all of these things, then a job is the thing for you. Most of us can not predict the future, so we need additional assets or abilities that can create additional income. This is where we want to come in. We want to be great at what we do, but we also want great things happening for us in spite of us instead of only because of us! That way we can do what we love, and love what we do. All the while we can do it without worrying about how long we have to do it, how many people we have to do it to, and what else do i have to do to make it! Come be a part of the movement, and invite some others along for the ride.
One of the most misquoted verses of the the bible is 1 Timothy 6:10. “For the LOVE of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Money is an inanimate object, so to love something that can not reciprocate love produces a form of idolatry. When one begins to worship money, when one becomes consumed with money, and when one will compromise their morals and ethical standards then this is where in lies the true problem. Many people will say that “money is the root of all evil.” Again, money is money. Just like guns don’t kill people, people with guns kill people. We can’t blame the object for the decisions of the person or people involved. The same thing applies with the misuse of money. I do not believe that God has a desire to keep us in the poor house. How much more effective can we be as disciples if we have the money to do the things that need to be done. How can we help the poor if we are poor? How can we help our neighbor, if we are in worse shape than they are in. How can we talk to the individuals who have obtained wealth in a secular about the goodness of our God, if they see us as broke and destitute. Ecclesiastes 7:12 says; “For wisdom is a defense even as money is a defense, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom shield and preserves the life of him who has it.” This statement comes from Solomon, which had the wisdom that surpassed that of all men. He was making it clear that the money is not the problem, it is the lack of wisdom that creates the issue. We see people that have won the lottery, and within a few years they are broke. We see athletes who make great sums of money, but usually 5 years from draft day is usually bankruptcy day. We cannot blame the money for those situations, we have to look at the root of the issue. I have not been to a school that actually teaches financial literacy. I have not gone to a church that teaches to true spiritual principles that pertain to financial literacy.
This is where we want to come into play. We have to understand what the master has in mind for us on a financially. We have to get all of the misconceptions out of the way that are being passed down from generation to generation. We have to see the transitions that must be made since we have gone from the industrial age into the present information age. That will help us with God’s plans for us to prosper, and not to fail. This is how we can live up to the benefits of obedience. Then you can be the head & not the tail. You can start being in the front instead of the back. You can be blessed in the city as well as in the field. You can be blessed going in & coming out. Out gifts will put us in front of important people. Will we be ready when an opportunity presents itself. The opportunity of a lifetime is only available within the lifetime of that opportunity. If we are not working to achieve our dreams, then we are working for someone so that they can achieve their dreams. How much more can we do in our spreading of the gospel if we have to monetary ability to get the message to the masses. If we have fortune 500 companies owned by Christians then a lot of the political agendas will not fly. If we have some true Christians who can afford to support true Christians in politics, the exclusion of God from everything will have a person or people in place to combat such attempts. When we have people that will invest in resources to stay up to date on the legal rights of the people, the we can make things happen in the realm where the decisions are made. When we learn to be proactive, and protect our assets and personal information from being stolen. When we start our own businesses that can be built to eventually create financial freedom. We have to make the change within ourselves to be able to make a change in the world. Lets come together and discuss the things that need to be done in today’s world. What are the questions that need to be answered? What are the solutions to the problems that we face daily? Theses are just some of the things that we want to help with. So come join us, and invite others to do so as well.
We as cosmetologist, barbers, and professionals of every kind have to take the necessary ACTIONS to maintain, if not actually enhance the level of integrity in our field. Tooooo many individuals in the beauty industry do not properly report our taxes, which is how the government calculated the median income of a profession. So, in turn, it makes the beauty profession look like the median income is somewhere near the poverty level. I makes i look as if this should be a hobby instead of a profession. It makes it look as if we will spend more money going to school than we will make in the industry. We know that just is not the truth. We have to get past the instant gratification of pocketing that money, and realize that we have to rebuild the reputation of the industry. We are not all slackers. We all did not go the school in our chosen field in the beauty industry just because we could not make it in college. We are not all just in this industry so that we can be tardy coming in to work. These are just a few of the misconception about barbers, cosmetologist, esthetitians, masseurs, makeup artist, and so on. We are artist. We are creative. We are innovators that create a look for an individual based on that individual. This is a profession that basically every human being needs in some form or fashion. Most don’t see it as a profession until they get an amateur service with a major malfunction. Then they need to go to a professional. That should not be the case. We should have our place as a necessary professional service right along with medical, legal, and financial professionals. The reason that we are not is our fault. We allow kitchen beauticians, garage barbers, and many other amateurs to somewhat successfully practice our profession without a license. We do not report them, and some of us even patronize their services. This is unacceptable. A person practicing medicine without a license goes to jail. A person practicing law without a license goes to jail, but we allow amateurs to to take a part of our clientele without recourse. We allow diversion to happen at a astounding rate. We allow individuals that really have nothing to do with our business to sell all kinds of products that should not are are not supposed to be in their facilities. The problem is that some of us patronize these establishments as we. Out of date professional products, sub-par grades of commercial hair, products that do more damage than good to the individual, etc. This has to stop, and we have to be the ones to stop it. Lets come together as professional, and make a difference. This site is dedicated to the uplifting of our industry. We believe that if we address the issues of the mind body & soul, then we as people can make the proper choices to elevate us to heights unknown. If we knew better, we would do better. Lets make the change starting today.
Where are we financially? Where do we want to be? How do we get from where we are to where we want to be? These are all questions that only you can answer. What I do know is that we all need to at least investigate ways of creating passive income. Passive or residual income is that money that some call pajama money. Whether you get up and go to work somewhere, or you just stay in the bed wearing your pajamas, this money will come in.
This can be very important. I learned the hard way when i lost my decent paying job. Even though I was not making six-figures at this job, it was paying the bills. When i lost that job, i saw just how much i needed it, or in reality how much I chose to depend on it. I could have been using some of that income to begin building me a business or alternate source of income. Even after that, I realized again the importance of creating passive income when I had a very serious accident. I could not work for a while, but that did not stop the bills from rolling in. As a matter of fact, that added on to the ever growing pile of bills.
That was my “ah ha” moment! Maybe it took that blow to the head to get my attention. I saw just how vulnerable I really am, and how quickly financial situations can change. This when I made a decision to take control. I realized that some people have talents that create residual income, or what they call royalties. I don’t sing or rap well enough to get contract, I can’t really pay any instruments, and I am not a good actor. So, royalties do not look like they will be a part of my future. What I could do was look for opportunities that could eventually produce passive residual. There are a number of different ways to achieve this. I am a little biased, because i like network marketing. I ran across a great one called LegalShield. That may not be for everyone, but we all should agree that we need to find something. Life ca throw any of us a curve ball at anytime. Just like in baseball, some of the time we will get a hit, and some of the time we won’t. Will you be prepared for those times that you get out? If not, you may be out of the game longer than you expect. So, don’t look at passive income passively. It may be a life changing decision! Check out this brie video that I made.
